- On September 11th, 2001, over 3000 people tragically died in New York, Washington D.C. and in Pennsylvania. 

- On December 26th 2004, more than 150,000 people perished from a Tsunami tidal wave in many countries in the India - Thailand - Sri Lanka - Indonesia areas.

None of those people expected that they would be in eternity that morning.

Ask yourself this question:  If you should die right now, where will you spend eternity? 

1. God says:

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God:"   Romans 3:23

No one is good enough to go to Heaven on his own merit.  No matter how much good we do, we still fall short.

How did you become a sinner?

2.  God says:

"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:"   Romans 5:12

Sin entered the world through Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. God told them they could eat of any tree but the tree of knowledge of good and evil. They disobeyed God and ate from that tree. A sin was committed. That sin passed down to the entire human race, including you and me. The Bible says that the price for sin, eternal death and torment in Hell, was also passed down to you and me.

3.  God says:

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."   Romans 5:8

God loves you very much, He doesn’t want you to go to Hell. He loves you so much that He came to Earth in human form as His Son, Jesus to die on the cross for you as our sacrifice and payment for OUR sin.  God says in the Bible that without the shedding of blood, there is no remission for sin.  Jesus actually lifted the sins from you and placed them upon Himself.  When they nailed Him to the cross, the blood that came from Him cleansed your sin. When He died on the cross, He paid your price for sin, death.  Three days later, He rose from the grave, alive!  He conquered death, and He conquered sin.

He offers you life.

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."   Romans 6:23

Eternal life is a present. You can’t get baptized into Heaven, be good to get into Heaven, pay money to get into Heaven; in fact, you can’t do anything to get into Heaven, except to be sorry for your sins and trust Jesus dying for you as your only way into Heaven. 

4.  God says:

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."   Romans 10:13

Eternal life in Heaven is a gift purchased by the blood of Jesus and offered freely to those who call upon Him by faith.  You must ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins and save your soul from Hell.  The Bible says in the verse above,  "whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."  Whosoever means anyone!  You, me, your neighbor, anyone.  If you call upon the name of the Lord in sincere faith, the Bible says that you "SHALL be SAVED".  It doesn't say "shall be saved" IF you're a good person, or a faithful church member, or if you give lots of money, etc.  The Bible says "SHALL be SAVED" PERIOD.  The ONLY condition to receiving the FREE gift of eternal life is that you must receive it!  There must be a time in your life that you make a decision to receive Jesus Christ as your Savior.  If you have not done that, according to the Bible, you will not enter into Heaven.

"And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."   Revelation 20:15
